A former Texas Southern University football player, identified by family as 24-year-old Tyler Martinez, was killed in a shooting described by police as stemming from a "parking garage dispute." The incident occurred Friday night at the Mac 4460 apartments located on South MacGregor Way at Calhoun in Houston.
Martinez was shot multiple times during the altercation. Police reported that 22-year-old Isaac Robinson returned to the scene after the shooting and was subsequently charged with murder.
Public records indicate that both Tyler Martinez and Isaac Robinson resided at the Mac 4460 apartment complex where the shooting took place.
According to the TSU website, Martinez played for the university's football team for four seasons, concluding in 2023. For his final three seasons, he served as a defensive tackle. Prior to attending TSU, Martinez played football at Humble High School.
