Miedema’s memorable City matches so far

Miedema, the all-time top scorer in the Barclays Women’s Super League, joined Manchester City after successful spells at Heerenveen, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal. In her debut season at the club, she recorded 11 goals and four assists across 19 appearances in all competitions, contributing to several memorable performances.

One standout display occurred in the Champions League Round Two qualifier against Paris FC, where Miedema scored on her debut. Breaking the deadlock in the 36th minute, she evaded her marker and acrobatically finished Jess Park's cross. This goal, described as vintage Miedema, was part of a 5-0 victory that included additional goals from Park, Mary Fowler, and Chloe Kelly.

Another key performance came against her former club Arsenal in the WSL. Miedema nearly opened the scoring with a 35-yard lob, but Arsenal took the lead through Frida Maanum. Miedema later equalized with a deflected shot from the edge of the box, after dribbling past Lotte Wubben-Moy. Jess Park then put City ahead with a half-volley, and Miedema tested Arsenal goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger twice in a dramatic encounter.
