MPBL player Ken Fred Segura shot dead in Cotabato

Former Arellano University shooting guard and Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) player Ken Fred "Kentoy" Segura was shot dead while driving in Barangay Pulanglupa, M'lang, Cotabato, on Tuesday night. Known as "Mr. Piso-piso" for his basketball skills, Segura succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

Reports state Segura was driving along the National Highway with his nephew after playing in an invitational basketball tournament in M'lang when suspects in a white car opened fire. Segura was hit in the side, while his nephew escaped unharmed.

The motive for the shooting remains unclear, and authorities are actively pursuing the suspects. Segura, a father of two, was a well-respected figure in the basketball community.

His body will be transported to his hometown in Digos City, Davao del Sur, for burial. Authorities continue to investigate and seek the suspects.
