Inter Milan is nearing agreement on a new four-year contract extension with 20-year-old Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, as reported by Sky Sport Italia. The new deal will run until the end of June 2029.
Akinsanmiro spent the previous season on loan at Sampdoria, gaining his first regular experience in senior football. Prior to this loan, he had impressed in Inter's Under-19 or Primavera team, which earned him appearances on the senior matchday squad and a substitute cameo against Lecce. Inter had previously secured his signature amid competition from clubs like Real Madrid and Benfica.
The loan to Sampdoria was prioritized to provide Akinsanmiro with regular playing time. While it is highly unlikely he will feature in Inter's senior squad next season, Sky reports that Inter will not sell him permanently either. This is directly linked to the imminent contract extension, as his current deal expires at the end of June 2025.
