Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his left knee after sustaining an injury during a workout, the team announced on Monday. ESPN's Shams Charania was the first to report the news.
The Sixers confirmed the surgery in their press release, stating it was performed by Dr. Jonathan Glashow. Dr. Glashow previously performed a similar arthroscopic procedure on teammate Joel Embiid's left knee in October.
This adds to George's injury struggles during his first season with the Sixers. The 35-year-old played only 41 games, hampered by two separate knee injuries (one in the preseason delaying his debut, and another shortly after he returned), as well as finger and groin issues.
The team confirmed that George will be re-evaluated before the start of training camp.
