The bold Arsenal and Bayern Munich swap deal which could work for both

Bayern Munich is reportedly considering a move for Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as they seek to strengthen their attacking options, particularly on the left wing. This follows Leroy Sané's departure to Galatasaray and unsuccessful attempts to sign Florian Wirtz, who joined Liverpool, and Nico Williams, who stayed at Athletic Bilbao.

According to The Athletic, Martinelli is viewed as a potential target for Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, alongside Liverpool's Luis Díaz. Bayern previously had a bid of approximately £58 million rejected for Díaz and may now focus their attention on acquiring Martinelli instead.

Martinelli joined Arsenal from Brazilian second-tier club Ituano in 2019 for £6 million, a signing initiated by then-manager Unai Emery. Initially requiring time to settle as a teenager, he showed early promise, scoring 5 Premier League goals across his first two seasons. He became a more regular starter in the 2021/22 season, contributing 6 goals and 6 assists in 36 matches. His breakthrough came in the 2022/23 campaign, where he excelled with 15 league goals and 7 assists, playing a key role in Arsenal's second-place finish.
