Tottenham prepare £22m bid for Ligue 1 striker despite Yoane Wissa talks

Tottenham Hotspur are actively pursuing experienced players in the transfer market, moving beyond just signing youngsters despite having a squad full of young talent. They have already secured the signing of Mohammed Kudus on a six-year deal.

The club has also triggered Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White's £60 million release clause, but this transfer is currently delayed due to Forest taking legal action against Spurs.

Despite these moves, Tottenham remain active and are focusing on signing a striker. Recent reports indicate they are still considering a move for Brentford's Yoane Wissa, despite Kudus's arrival.

A new report from Africa Foot states Tottenham are preparing a €25 million (£22m) bid for OGC Nice striker Evann Guessand. The 24-year-old, who scored 13 goals and provided 9 assists in 33 Ligue 1 games last season, is also attracting interest from Fenerbahce.

It is unclear if pursuing Guessand would affect the potential move for Wissa. Brentford are demanding £50 million for Wissa, who is 28 and has one year left on his contract, justified by his Premier League experience and record of 45 goals in 137 matches.

Consequently, Tottenham face a decision between the experienced but expensive Wissa and the younger Guessand as they seek to strengthen their forward line.
