New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs may have accidentally created a new warm-up technique during a team pet adoption event. While carrying a puppy onto the practice field as part of the "Pawtriots" adoption program, the dog escaped from his arms.
Diggs chased after the loose puppy, successfully retrieved it, and gave the dog a scratch behind the ears before returning to his playbook. Notably, Diggs was recently cleared for full practice participation just nine months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ACL. Following this impromptu puppy chase, he appeared to be moving quickly and effectively on the field, making sharp cuts during practice.
The "Pawtriots" pet adoption program was created this year by Patriots owner Robert Kraft and his wife, Dana. Most of the pets available for adoption through the program came from an overcrowded animal shelter located in Mississippi.
